Today is the fourth day of our Fit It Forward challenge. This week, we’re working on your happy. Yesterday we shared a book with a friend!
Challenge #3: Find Their Genius. Everyone is really, really good at something. Taken out of context, that ‘genius’ may seem trivial, but it’s a sign of larger things. One of my first favourite things about my wife was her cooking. She just seems to always know the right things to cook. If you ever come over for dinner or ask her to bring a dish, you’ll never be disappointed.
We spend a lot of time finding ‘bright spots’ for HRF family members. Our collective pursuit-fitness-provides a great opportunity for nurturing genius. When Mary Beth crushed her first set of linked double unders in September, everyone was excited!. It’s really easy to find genius in the gym.
It might be hard to uncover genius–or forget genius–outside the gym. When your husband, who is a genius at making coffee, leaves the door open too long, or forgets to take out the garbage, try to focus on the coffee today. You don’t have to forget about the other stuff, but tell him that his genius is appreciated.
Our local expert for finding genius, is James Kingsley. Even after a severe neck injury, he is able to push himself everyday in the gym and encourage others to work hard. He feels safe with us because he trusts his coaches.. Thanks for giving us that trust, Kingsley!
The quiet uncovering of genius is a crime. If you see something, say something. Celebrate someone’s genius today and share with the Panda Fam on Facebook and on Instagram.
Let US know you’re doing the challenge! Tag yourself in on our instagram/facebook post, and make it your profile pic for the week! You don’t have to tell anyone what it means if you don’t want to, but we wanna know that the Hudson River Fitness family doing some good out there!
